Software Engineer (Mid to Senior)

We are a small, fully remote, international team building apps and web platforms. We work closely with our clients in long term contracts - operating as their entire product and development teams.

We’ve been successful as a core team and are now seeking a mid-to-senior full stack developer to become the next member of Skyward. The ideal candidate is self-motivated and passionate about helping mission-based companies achieve their goals through technology.

Our Tech Stack
- Ruby on Rails
- Javascript/ES6
- Flutter (iOS + Android)
- Postgres
- CSS

Requirements
- Strong understanding of web development concepts
- Enjoy working all over the tech stack
- Familiarity with mobile development (Flutter is a big plus)
- Take pride in the quality and usability of code you ship
- Excellent communication skills
- North American or European timezones

At Skyward, we work on diverse projects and across all layers of the tech stack. Our clients include mindfulness platforms, apps for developing West Africa, and biotech solutions, to name a few. Working on 2 or 3 of these projects in a week is common.

The ideal candidate is adaptable and thrives in a fast paced, changing environment. During product development the scope of work often changes, as we guide our clients to finding product-market fit. While you won’t consistently interface with clients, we must all be customer and quality advocates when we are creating their products.

Skyward operates with minimal overhead and a “flat-ish” structure. Thus, the ideal candidate must be self motivated with a strong sense of personal responsibility. Each person is trusted to be individually accountable to their work and commitments. This gives us great freedom, but requires that we are diligent about completing our work and releasing well tested code.
